SDI Specialties
Specialty courses are essential for advancing your education and skills in all types of diving.

ADVANCED ADVENTURE DIVER $295
The purpose of this course is to provide divers with an introduction to five different specialties, including two core and three additional SDI Specialties. The two core specialties are SDI Deep and Navigation. One dive from each specialty can count toward completing a full specialty certification.

ADVANCED BUOYANCY CONTROL $195
Introducing a diver to the benefits of buoyancy control often has a profoundly positive impact, enhancing both their enjoyment and sense of accomplishment. This specialty is designed to improve the open water diver’s understanding of the factors that affect buoyancy and to train them in the techniques and tools available for effective buoyancy control.

BOAT DIVER $195
Whether on a private vessel or a charter dive boat, many divers are unfamiliar with the specific procedures and etiquette of boat diving. This course is designed to introduce divers to various types of boat diving and to teach the skills needed to plan and execute a boat dive safely and efficiently.

COMPUTER NITROX DIVER $195
The SDI Computer Nitrox course is designed to teach open water divers how to safely use nitrox mixtures of up to 40 percent, with the assistance of a nitrox-compatible dive computer.
Required equipment:

Oxygen Analyzer is suggested for anyone traveling, but not required.

DEEP DIVER $225

The purpose of this course is to provide the training needed to plan and execute dives beyond the depth limits of an Open Water Scuba Diver course, specifically dives deeper than 60 feet, with a maximum depth of 130 feet.

DRIFT DIVER $195
This course is designed to teach divers the skills, knowledge, and techniques required to safely conduct drift dives. Drift diving is common in tropical destinations but can be highly dangerous without proper training. We focus on teaching you safe practices for diving in currents.

DRY SUIT DIVER $195

This course enables students to develop the knowledge and skills needed to properly use a dry suit. It covers the different types of dry suits, their accessories, maintenance, and how to perform basic repairs.

FULL FACE MASK DIVER $225
The purpose of this course is to train divers with the necessary procedures, knowledge and skills to safely dive with a full face mask.

NIGHT / LIMITED VISIBILITY DIVER $250

The purpose of this course is to familiarize open water divers with the procedures, techniques, and potential hazards of diving at night or in limited visibility. By learning to use dive lights and mastering night diving skills such as navigation, buddy system procedures, communication, buoyancy control, and interacting with nocturnal marine life, divers can safely enjoy the unique experience of night diving.

SEARCH AND RECOVERY DIVER $250
This specialty is designed to acquaint the diver with the special skills and techniques necessary to successfully plan, execute and evaluate a search and recovery dive

Lines, lift bags, and reels are provided by the instructor for safety. However, recommend purchasing your own after the course. (Not available for rent).

SIDEMOUNT DIVER $255

This course is designed to teach certified divers how to safely use sidemounted primary cylinders as an alternative to the traditional back-mounted setup. The course is strictly non-decompression, with a maximum depth limit of 40m/130ft, or within the diver’s current certification limits, whichever is shallower.

2 Regulators with appropriate number of ports w/ spg’s. Ask for assistance.

UNDERWATER NAVIGATION COURSE $250
This course is designed to give students a greater understanding and experience on how to properly navigate underwater using both natural and compass navigation.

WRECK DIVER
(non-penetration $250)

Wreck diving can be one of the most thrilling experiences in sport diving, but it requires strict adherence to safe diving techniques. This course covers the equipment and methods commonly used in wreck diving. It can be taught as a non-penetration course with 2 required dives, or as a limited-penetration course with 3 required dives. Limited penetration refers to a swim-through or dives within the ambient light zone of the entry point.

Advanced, Rescue, and Master Courses
SDI ADVANCED DIVER $100
+ 4 SDI SPECIALTY COURSES

To achieve the Advanced Diver certification, a diver must complete four SDI Specialty Courses (with only one allowed to be a non-diving course, like Nitrox) and provide proof of 25 logged dives. This is an accomplishment a diver can earn, not a course. The certification does not include the four specialty courses themselves.

SDI RESCUE DIVER $400
+ CPR, FIRST AID & O2 PROVIDER COURSES
This course is designed to equip divers with the knowledge and skills needed to perform effective rescues, assist others, and provide first aid in diving emergencies. You will learn essential skills such as self-rescue, buddy rescues, recognizing and calming potential panic divers, administering first aid for dive-related injuries, conducting effective search operations, and managing accident scenes. It's the ideal class for divers looking to expand their understanding of dive-related injuries and emergency response.
Required equipment:

SDI MASTER DIVER $50

To achieve the Master Diver certification, a diver must complete four Specialty Courses (with only one being a non-diving course, like Nitrox), the SDI Rescue Diver course, and provide proof of 50 logged dives. This is an accomplishment a diver can earn, not a course. The certification does not include the four specialties, the rescue class, or the CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen Provider class. The Bearded Scuba Diver charges an additional $50 for the Advanced certification card.

First Response Training International Courses

ADULT, CHILD & INFANT EMERGENCY CARE COURSE
This course combines cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and automated external defibrillator (AED) use into one comprehensive program. It teaches the techniques needed to provide CPR, first aid, and use an AED in emergency situations involving infants, children, and adults. The course meets international standards, is OSHA and ILCOR compliant, and is recognized by the United States Coast Guard (USCG).

OXYGEN (O2) ADMINISTRATION COURSE
This course is designed to teach emergency oxygen (O2) administration. It covers the equipment and procedures necessary for administering oxygen in emergency situations. The program includes detailed instruction on selecting and using equipment for decompression illness emergencies, with practical components to develop a well-rounded rescuer.
